DREAM, DREAM, DREAM....OOOOH (song)

Jan and Dean were brothers who sang some wonderful songs in the 60s. Do you remember their song DREAM? "When I want you, in my arms. When I want you, with all your charms. Whenever I want you all I have to do is DREAM."

Well, I thought about that song last night because at Dee's workshop we made DREAMSICLES - those yummy popsicles made from orange popsicle with vanilla icecream in the middle. I LOVED those as a kid.

Well last night, 8 ladies loved making those as cards. We had so much fun. We had 4 NEWBIES to stamping and they did a terrific job with the help of those sitting next to them who were pros already at cardmaking.

We all loved the little BITE out of the corner of the card to show the vanilla ice cream inside.

We made a candy treat to go with the card - a baggie of orange slice jellies (also a childhood fav) with a topper on it to match the card.

We used the TART AND TANGY stamp set with a sentiment from a retired set.

BUT I FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYONE HAVING FUN!! I WAS SO BUSY HELPING AND HAVING FUN THAT I TOTALLY FORGOT THE PHOTOS. OUCH!

MY FIRST RAG PURSE - A FLANNEL DIAPER BAG

As I promised, here are some photos of my first rag purse made with the scallop square die cut and my BIG SHOT. (What?? You have NOT gotten one yet?? = YOU NEED ONE...)

Anyway, I got some flannel cloth with froggies on it since my niece is having a boy. I thought these froggies were perfect for a baby boy's diaper bag.

It went together so very easy - just sew an X from corner to corner thru 3 layers - 2 layers of cloth and one layer of batting or thick interface. I bought the interface by the yard and it seems just like quilt batting.

I added fabric handles and a cute wooden button for the closure. As you can see in the photo, I also added 2 pockets inside for the bottle and some wipies. I think pockets are important in diaper bags.

See photos and let me know if you have any questions about how to make one yourself.

Then decide how large you want your diaper bag (I chose 3 square high and 3 squares wide for each side.)

124 mini milk cartons made, decorated and filled to give as gifts

At class yesterday, the participants made mini milk cartons and carriers, decorated them and prepared to give them away as gifts. A real service project with lots of FUN doing it.

We made 144 cartons total with holders for each set of 4. Everyone had such a fun time deciding how to decorate them with stamps, decorative paper, ink techniques, and embellishments. The embellishments were the favorite part for everyone, I believe. Brads of all colors, the new sparkly brads, paper flowers, those other flowers that you can ink, clips of all kinds, glitter, beads, glue on doo-dads (technical term for sure), etc. It was pure madness in a GOOD way.

Thank you Lesleigh for being such a wonderful hostess and putting up with all our mess and GLITTER everywhere. AND we all fell in love with those melt in your mouth cinnamon rolls. See Lesleigh's blog at CUPCAKESBYLES.BLOGSPOT.COM for more of her amazing eatible creations.

It was a fun but exhausting day. Thanks to everyone who came and participated. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones.

STAMP ON!
