LATE NIGHT STAMPERS CHALLENGE - BRING ON THE BLING

HEY BLOGGIES,

Here is a card I made for the Late Night Stampers Challenge:

I used Modern Medley DSP for the background.  The die cut is a retired tulip die from Sizzix/Stampin Up.

My BLING is all the BLACK RHINESTONES on top of the die cut.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  If you need any supplies, please consider using me as your demonstrator.

Thanks for stopping by!!

PAPER PUMPKIN DONE 4 DIFFERENT WAYS

HEY BLOGGIES,

I got my paper pumpkin for September yesterday and immediately made the card as they suggested.  Well, ALMOST as they suggested.  I used the paper that the die cuts popped out of as a stencil and added another arrow using the midnight muse ink.

As you can see, I also smudged some blue at the top of my card so I won't be sending this to anyone.  grrrr  But I did want you to see the card as they suggested...almost.

This one is also close to what they suggested.  I just used two blue print arrows instead of one red and one blue.  I also moved the YOU DID IT to the top left.

This one I cut up the little file folder and used the stripe at the bottom, put the button above it and then used the rest of the folder for the YOU DID IT.

THIS one is my creation.  I used the string as an embellishment down the left side, but off the stripe at the bottom of the file folder, did the sentiment in red AND blue, and put the WAHOO inside.  This is the card I am entering at TECHNO STAMPER MONDAY LUNCH CHALLENGE.

Here are all the cards together:

Hope you enjoyed MY version of the September PAPER PUMPKIN KIT.  Have you tried it yet?  I think you will have as much fun as I did to create these fun cards!!

BLACK AND WHITE SPECIAL FOLD CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

We got rain here in TEXAS!!  YIPPEE  It was wonderful and we are praying for some more this weekend.  The drought is at the end, we are all hoping.

My manager, Dawn G. shared how to make this special fold card and I wanted to share with all of you.  I used the Modern Medley DSP, which is all black and white patterns.  I love how elegant it is and how it can go with any other pop of color.

It looks difficult but it is actually achieved with a few score lines to fold and only 2 small triangle cuts.

I used the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and matching FRAMELITS for the "FOR YOU" closure of this card.  It is only adhered on the left side so it can easily open, as you will see in the next photo.

Here is the card with only the left side open.  You can see I put a piece of solid card stock inside for your note, message, etc.

Both sides open here.  The black card stock is the square base that the card sits upon.

A final photo of the completed card.  I stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.  Love that look!!

THEN I DECIDED IT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE BLING!!  Here is the card BLINGED UP with a ribbon and some pearls of different sizes:

Two big pearls on the label and 5 mini pearls in a row on all four sides of the stripe.

The pearls in a row show up better when this photo is blurry.
I am pointing to one row of the 5 mini pearls and next photo down I am pointing to another row.

Thanks for stopping by this weekend. See you again with another fun card.

THANKFUL CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Welcome to my blog this fine Wednesday in September.  We are excited around these parts of Texas because we have TWO CHANCES FOR RAIN this weekend - from the dispersed hurricanes from Mexico and from the storms moving out of Colorado.  We are PRAYING that we get both these storms so that we can start getting some moisture.  We have been in severe drought status for so very long.  Trees are showing great signs of stress, many are dying and things are generally crispy around here.

But, autumn is poking it's head in a few days to say hello, so that is the theme I picked for my card. My Time to Craft Challenge says choose autumn colors.    Create with Connie and Mary has a color challenge this week:
CCMCFALL13-03  I wouldn't have thought to put the soft sky in with those other two autumn colors, but it was FUN to stretch outside my comfort zone.

I used the soft sky as my base color and also pulled it back in with my sentiment.   I used the specialty paper with the woodgrain and rubbed chocolate chip ink over it before cutting it into a tag.  A small soft sky circle is where is reinforced the hole.

I double stamped my GIFT THANKS sentiment from the 25th Anniversary Best of Autumn stamp in both soft sky and baked brown sugar.  It gives it a nice shadow effect that I was looking for.

I used the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE for the curry leaves and rain them through the woodgrain embossing folder to give them some texture.  The acorns are also from this Bigz Die, and I used the NEW CHALK MARKER for the highlights on them.

One more full look at my card.  Now you can see that before I began I stamped color tone on tone with the Best of Autumn leaf all over the card before I began putting it together and even inked a small bit around the edges.

What do you think?  I would LOVE to HEAR FROM YOU.

LATE SUMMER FADING GREEN LEAVES CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Thanks for stopping by my little part of the world to see what I have created today.  Sorry I was so late in getting my card up for today, but I was running errands most of the day.  I could not wait to come home to create my entry for the MOJO MONDAY challenge and get it up.

Here is what I came up with from their design challenge:

My card base is pistachio pudding card stock, with a layer of pear pizzazz and a small layer of basic black.  I used a non SU embossing folder of leaves because SU does not carry anything like this.

My embossed layer got some sponging over just a few of the embossed leaves.  I have a 1/8" basic black ribbon with a faux bow of black and white plaid attached.  I used A ROUND ARRAY stamp set for my round THANK YOU and punched with two different sizes of scallop punches.

I used my BIG SHOT and the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE to die cut the leaves and then ran them through the WOODGRAIN EMBOSSING FOLDER for texture.  Sponged a little bit of black around the edges and VOILA - all done.

I am pleased with how it came out.  Do you like?  I am ready for it to get a bit cooler, but I will certainly miss my beautiful GREENS of summer.  I also wanted to use the Autumn Accents die with something other than fall color leaves and I think this came out well.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come on back now, ya' hear?

FALL FLOWERS AND SHADES OF BLUE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Welcome back to my little part of the world.  Today I have two cards for you.  They are going to be part of a set of cards I am giving as a gift to a friend.

First up is the friend or generic type card:

Crumb cake and blue - I love that combination.  I find it is my "go to" when I need a quick card and don't have time to mull over what colors I will use.  I think this is fall flowers because the flower is made with the packing material they sometimes use in boxes I receive from UPS, etc. I HOARD this stuff from my boxes I receive and now I am finally trying to use it!!

Sponging the layers and a little bit of the flower adds dimension and more color.  I used a retired corduroy button in the middle of my punched flower.

I created a fun element underneath the 1/8" taffeta ribbon - I used the scallop edge punch and punched it on both sides.  It created a rick-rack effect and I am really liking it!!

NEXT CARD BELOW IS ENTERED INTO:

CRAFT DASH 10 MINUTE CARD
SUO CHALLENGE - TECHNIQUE
PAPERCRAFT STAR

My NEXT card uses the same colors and similar design since they are part of a gift set.  This card is a thank you card and would be perfect for the new teacher.  The technique I am focusing on is using punches and dies.  I used 2 punches and a die.

I did a similar design with this card, but I put the flower at the bottom left, made it a bigger flower and put just a single punched scallop edge under the dsp.

This flower is cut from the same package stuffing but with a big shot die.  It took me 9 minutes 27 seconds to make this card.  I made it under 10 minutes!!

Here are the two cards together.  I am making two more and then a fun package to gift them in for my friend.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Please stop back in again to see some more fun creations.

BEST OF AUTUMN - 26TH ANNIVERSARY STAMP SET FOR SEPTEMBER

BEST OF AUTUMN

It is now time to transition into fall, and this month’s Best of stamp set, “Best of Autumn,” is the perfect set to help you with your crafting needs—such as making a card or a tag for a gift.
I used the leaf and greeting images to create my project. Gold is very popular right now and I wanted to incorporate it—so I gold-embossed a few leaves and colored the cut-up doily pieces using a Sponge Dauber and the Gold Metallic Encore Pad. Last, I rubbed the gold ink pad around the edges of my frame to give it a more rustic feel.
This framed piece would be perfect to use on your mantel or entry table—or even to give as a gift. It will be sure to get everyone excited about the fall season!

A GIRL CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY (PAPER) PURSES!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a fun paper purse that can hold a gift card, candy, a small gift, etc.  I made it in purple, black and white because I was thinking about an ADULT Halloween theme, but it can really be for any time in any color, etc.

I used the TOP NOTE DIE and my BIG SHOT for the purse shape.  I used two of the OVAL FRAMELITS for the purse cover.

The designer paper is MODERN MEDLEY DSP - all fun black and white designs.  I used some polkadot ribbon for the purse handle.

Her I am holding it by it's handle so you can get an idea of how big it is.  You could always make it longer or wider by cutting halfway, the backing it back out of the BIG SHOT and then moving the paper and cutting it from the other side.  But I am happy with this regular size of the TOP NOTE DIE.

I used some sticky Velcro for the closure.  Here you can see where I punched holes in the top and threaded my ribbon through and tied a knot for the handle.  I REALLY LOVE this paper with the elegant eggplant card stock, don't you?

Here I am closing up the purse after I filled it with a cute note and a gift card.  The flower on the front is made with two layers of purple and two layers of white card stock punched with the medium scallop circle punch.

Hope you enjoyed my Halloween Purse trick or treat for ADULTS.  ha ha  You know the saying:

A GIRL CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY PURSES OR TOO MUCH MONEY!!   HA HA

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I have card class tonight so I will be showing you our projects we complete on tomorrow's blog.  Come on back now, ya' hear?
